Biography of Ray Flaherty Who Is The Founder and sole trader and remedial massage therapist and holistic practitioner of Oriental Holistic Massage and ACT Sports Massage in Canberra. I register my first massage in business in 03 Aug 2007.

Ray specialise in women's health and wellness through sports massage, remedial massage to holistic practices. Ray is a qualified Remedial and Sports massages Therapist with over 20 years of experience across Australia and Asia. He is also trained in holistic practices by a women teacher for women's best health and wellness.
Ray has a passionate about helping people unwind, relax and or reduce pain, Ray opened his own practice in 2007 and works across the full spectrum of massage to support body performance. With many years of clinical and experience both treating and managing clients with chronic pain, repetitive strain injuries and also sport athletic, body aches and pains caused by but not limited to poor posture, sports, work ergonomics and or everyday life stresses.
Ray has also many years experience in sports massage, remedial massage, injury prevention and management, rehabilitation therapy, trigger point therapy, stretch therapy, acupressure therapy and Myofascial release.
Ray specialise in women’s health and wellness and takes a holistic approach to all of his clients. He has a strong referral base from Chiropractors, GP's and a physiotherapist in Canberra and has works alongside them to support client recovery. He has also worked in a Chiropractors clinic in North Canberra.
Ray is a great believer in health and fitness for both body and mind, Ray was introduced to martial arts at the age of 12 and still practices to this day. During his early years in martial arts, Ray observed the muscle work that his Jodo Sensei performed on others which sparked his initial interest in healing through massage.
Ray has completed a wide variety of massage training across Australasia and overseas and is qualified in remedial massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage and holistic relaxation massage as well as a meditation and mindfulness teacher, personal trainer, Pilates, acupressure and holistic practices for best health and wellness.
Throughout his career as a Remedial massage therapist, Ray has balanced working as a clinical administration, safety officer, health, wellness and safety manager, roster manager, physiotherapist assistant, working with chiropractors, youth support worker, disability support worker and aged care sectors to get a wide view of the problems that can come from different working conditions whether it be work or sports.
Ray also spends a lot of time in Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan with his wife and her family and supports his international clients with stretch therapy, remedial massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy or his holistic practices.

Overseas Training And Teaching
Back again from Thailand learning new skills 6th October 2019 and also massage overseas clients in my pain management and stretching. Hong Kong training was cancelled due to the unrest in Hong Kong.
Came back on the 7th of July 2018 from my Asia trip with learning new skills and teaching my pain management to massage therapist friends in Hong Kong and Thailand.
